Privacy Policy

Our Promise

Divvy was built on a simple idea: your financial data is yours. We have architected the app so that we literally cannot see your portfolio, your holdings, or your dividend history.

Data We Store

All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:

• Holdings: Ticker symbols, share counts, company names, average cost basis
• Dividend Events: Ex-dates, pay dates, amounts, received status
• App Preferences: Face ID toggle, iCloud Sync toggle, theme settings, trial start date

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud Sync.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud Sync in Settings, your portfolio data is synced across your devices using your private iCloud container (CloudKit). This data is:

• Stored in your private iCloud database — not accessible to the developer
• Encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest
• Only synced to devices signed in with your Apple ID

You can disable iCloud Sync at any time in Settings. Disabling sync does not delete data already on your device.

AI Features & API Keys

Divvy offers optional AI features (safety scores, cut warnings, benchmarks, Q&A). These features work in three ways:

• Apple Intelligence (iOS 26+): Runs entirely on-device or via Apple's Private Cloud Compute. No data is sent to the developer or any third party.
• BYO API Key: If you provide your own API key (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, or DeepSeek), your questions and relevant portfolio context are sent directly from your device to your chosen AI provider. The developer never sees this data.
• API Key Storage: Your API key is stored in the iOS Keychain, encrypted by Apple. It is never sent to developer servers, never included in analytics, and never logged.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No personal information (name, email, phone)
• No analytics or usage statistics
• No advertising identifiers (IDFA)
• No crash reports sent to developer (only Apple's standard crash handling)
• No portfolio data sent to developer servers
• No API keys sent to developer servers

Third-Party Services

Divvy uses the following third-party services only when you actively use specific features:

• Yahoo Finance API: Used to fetch stock ticker search results, company info, and dividend calendar data. Requests are made directly from your device. Yahoo does not receive your portfolio data — only the ticker symbols you search for.
• Your chosen AI provider: Only when you use AI features with a BYO API key. Your questions and portfolio context are sent directly to the provider you selected. The developer has no access to these communications.

No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included in Divvy.

Purchases & Subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework. The developer receives only a transaction receipt — no payment information, no credit card details, no personal financial data.

Face ID / Touch ID

If you enable Face ID Lock, Divvy uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to require biometric authentication when returning to the app. Your biometric data is never accessed, stored, or transmitted by Divvy — authentication is handled entirely by iOS.

Children's Privacy

Divvy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Your Rights

Since Divvy collects no personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. Your portfolio data is under your control — you can delete individual holdings or reset the entire app in Settings at any time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We will never change our core promise: zero data collection.
