FreshKeep Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

FreshKeep is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary to provide our services:

• Food Item Data: Information you voluntarily enter about your food items (names, expiry dates, categories, storage locations, notes, and photos) is stored locally on your device.
• Barcode Data: When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts API to retrieve product information. This data is not stored on our servers.
• Photo Data: Photos taken for OCR expiry date recognition are processed entirely on your device and are not uploaded to any server.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To track and manage your food items and their expiry dates
• To send you local notifications about expiring food items
• To provide recipe suggestions based on your expiring items
• To process in-app purchases through Apple's StoreKit

3. Data Storage

All food item data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you enable iCloud Sync (Pro feature), your data is synced through your iCloud account, which is managed by Apple under their privacy policy.

We do not maintain any servers that store your personal data.

4. Third-Party Services

• Open Food Facts API: Used to look up product information by barcode. Their privacy policy: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy
• Apple StoreKit: Used for in-app purchases and subscriptions. Apple's privacy policy applies.
• Apple iCloud: Used for optional data synchronization. Apple's privacy policy applies.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes. Your data remains on your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud Sync.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete any food item at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data. If you use iCloud Sync, deleting the app will also remove data from iCloud.

7. Children's Privacy

FreshKeep does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to use.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
