Tap the "Add" tab at the bottom of the screen. You can scan a barcode, take a photo of the label, or enter the details manually.
When you scan a barcode, FreshKeep looks up the product information using the Open Food Facts database and automatically fills in the name and category. The expiry date is estimated based on the food category and storage location.
Select a photo of the food label, and FreshKeep uses on-device text recognition to find and extract expiry dates. Multiple detected dates will be shown for you to choose from.
FreshKeep sends local notifications when food items are about to expire. You can configure the alert timing in Settings. Make sure notifications are enabled for the app in your device settings.
Pro features include: unlimited food items, OCR expiry date recognition, receipt scanning batch entry, smart expiry estimation, recipe suggestions, Home Screen widget, and iCloud sync.
You can manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > FreshKeep Pro. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period.
All food item data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud Sync (Pro feature), data is synced through your iCloud account managed by Apple. We never store your data on our servers.
Estimated expiry dates are based on general food category guidelines and storage conditions. Always verify the actual expiry date printed on the food packaging. You can edit the expiry date at any time.
