Your menstrual and emotional health data belongs to you alone. MoodCycle AI is designed with a privacy-first architecture: all your personal data is stored locally on your device and never uploaded to our servers. We physically cannot access your health information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework:
Mood & Emotional Data
Daily mood ratings, emotional states, notes, and patterns you log in the app.
Cycle Information
Menstrual cycle dates, period tracking data, cycle length, and related health metrics.
Health Data (Optional)
If you enable HealthKit integration: heart rate, sleep data, steps, and other health metrics from Apple Health. This data remains in your Health app; we only read it with your permission.
App Preferences
Your settings, reminder times, display preferences, and app configuration.
1.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email, or any personally identifiable information (unless you contact support)
- Your precise location
- Your mood or cycle data on our servers
- Any health data without your explicit permission
2. How We Use Information
2.1 On-Device AI Processing
All AI predictions and machine learning happen directly on your device using Apple's CoreML framework. Your data never leaves your device for processing.
2.2 App Functionality
Your data is used solely to:
- Display your mood history and cycle information
- Generate personalized predictions about your emotional cycles
- Provide insights and recommendations based on your patterns
- Send you local notifications for reminders (if enabled)
3. Data Storage & Security
3.1 Local-First Architecture
MoodCycle AI uses a local-first design. All your data is stored in an encrypted database on your device. We do not maintain servers that store your health information.
3.2 Security Measures
- Data is protected by iOS built-in encryption
- Optional app lock with Face ID / Touch ID
- No cloud synchronization by default
- Data remains on your device unless you explicitly export it
3.3 Backup
If you enable iCloud backup for your device, your app data may be included in your encrypted iCloud backup. This is controlled by your iOS settings, not by MoodCycle AI.
4. Data Sharing
4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third parties. Period.
4.2 Partner Sharing (Optional)
If you enable the optional Partner Sharing feature, selected cycle information can be shared with a trusted partner through your device's native sharing mechanisms. This is entirely under your control.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect our rights. However, since we don't store your health data on our servers, we cannot provide what we don't have.
5. Your Rights & Control
5.1 Access & Export
You can view and export all your data at any time from the Settings menu in the app.
5.2 Deletion
You can delete all your data instantly using the "Delete All Data" option in Settings. This permanently removes all information from your device.
5.3 App Deletion
Deleting the app from your device will remove all associated data, unless you have iCloud backup enabled.
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Apple HealthKit
If you choose to enable HealthKit integration, MoodCycle AI can read health data from Apple Health with your explicit permission. This integration is optional and controlled entirely by iOS privacy settings.
6.2 Analytics
We do not use third-party analytics services that track your behavior. Any analytics we collect are anonymized and limited to app performance metrics.
7. Children's Privacy
MoodCycle AI is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.

10. California Privacy Rights
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Since we do not sell personal information and limit data collection to what is necessary for app functionality, most CCPA provisions are satisfied by our privacy-first design.
