Information We Collect

PathForge collects minimal personal information to provide our services:

• Learning Path Data: Your learning goals, progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device and optionally synced via iCloud.
• API Key: Your OpenAI API key is stored locally on your device using iOS Keychain security. We never transmit or store your API key on our servers.
• Usage Data: We do not collect analytics, tracking data, or personal usage statistics.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide the PathForge learning path generation service. Learning path data is processed by OpenAI's API to generate personalized study plans. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to any data sent to their API.

Data Storage

• All learning data is stored locally on your iOS device using SwiftData
• If iCloud sync is enabled, data is encrypted and stored in your iCloud account via CloudKit
• We do not maintain any external servers or databases containing your personal data

Third-Party Services

PathForge uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI API: Used to generate personalized learning paths. Your learning goals and preferences are sent to OpenAI for processing. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Apple iCloud/CloudKit: Optional data synchronization across your devices. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Apple StoreKit: For subscription management. No personal data is shared with us.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the service as described above.

Data Retention

All data is stored on your device. You can delete your data at any time by deleting the app. If iCloud sync is enabled, deleting data from one device will sync the deletion across all your devices.

Children's Privacy

PathForge is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through the app's settings or by contacting us.
