SnapShift ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.
🔒 Our Privacy Promise
- 100% On-Device Processing: All photos are processed and stored locally on your device
- No Photo Uploads: We never upload your progress photos to our servers
- No Account Required: Use the app without creating an account
- Zero Ads: We don't show ads, so we don't collect advertising data
Information We Collect
1. Photos and Progress Data
What we collect:
- Progress photos taken within the app
- Photo metadata (date, angle, album association)
- Optional metrics: weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass
- Optional notes you add to photos
How it's stored:
- All photos are stored locally in the app's secure container on your device
- Photos are protected by iOS sandbox security
- If you enable iCloud sync, data is encrypted and stored in your iCloud account (Apple's servers)
- We cannot access your photos or data
2. Body Metrics Data
SnapShift allows you to manually log body metrics alongside your progress photos:
- Weight - manually entered alongside your progress photos
- Body Fat Percentage - manually entered alongside your progress photos
Important:
- Body metrics are entered manually by you, the user
- We never share your body metrics data with third parties
- We never upload your body metrics data to our servers
- We never sell your personal information
3. Camera and Photo Library Access
Camera: Used to take progress photos with ghost overlay alignment
Photo Library: Used to import existing progress photos (optional)
Voice Recognition: Used for voice-activated shutter ("Now", "Cheese", "Snap")
Face ID/Touch ID: Used to lock the app and protect your privacy
All camera and photo processing happens on-device. We never see, store, or transmit your photos.
4. Purchase Information
We use Apple's In-App Purchase system for Pro upgrades. We receive:
- Confirmation of purchase (to unlock features)
- No payment details (Apple handles all transactions securely)
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Display your progress photos and timeline
- Generate timelapse videos (Pro feature)
- Show body metrics alongside photos (if entered)
- Provide ghost overlay alignment for consistent photos
- Sync data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
We DO NOT:
- ❌ Sell your personal data
- ❌ Share your photos with third parties
- ❌ Use your data for advertising
- ❌ Analyze your photos for any purpose other than app functionality
- ❌ Transmit your data to external servers
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- Photos are stored in your app's sandbox container
- Protected by iOS encryption when device is locked
- Isolated from other apps
iCloud Sync (Optional)
- Uses Apple's CloudKit with end-to-end encryption
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Only you can access your synced data
- We cannot access your iCloud data
Face ID / Touch ID
- Biometric data never leaves your device's Secure Enclave
- We only receive authentication success/failure
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your data at any time:
- Individual photos: Delete within the app
- Albums: Delete entire albums within the app
- All data: Uninstall the app to remove all local data
- iCloud data: Manage in iOS Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
Third-Party Services
We use the following Apple services:
- StoreKit: For In-App Purchases (governed by Apple's privacy policy)
- CloudKit: For optional iCloud sync (governed by Apple's privacy policy)
- LocalAuthentication: For Face ID/Touch ID (on-device only)
- Speech Framework: For voice commands (on-device only)
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Children's Privacy
SnapShift is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Export your data
- Withdraw consent
