Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enable call blocking?

After installing SpamSentry, go to your iPhone Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification, and enable SpamSentry. This allows the app to block calls at the system level.

How do I enable message filtering?

Go to iPhone Settings → Messages → Unknown & Spam, and select SpamSentry as your message filter. Filtered messages will appear in a separate list.

How does the community blocklist work?

SpamSentry syncs with a curated database of known spam numbers. Tap "Sync Now" on the Dashboard to download the latest blocklist. The sync happens automatically in the background.

Can I add my own numbers to block?

Yes! Go to the Blocklist tab and tap the + button to add any phone number. You can also add a label to remember why you blocked it.

What is Area Code Blocking?

Area Code Blocking lets you block all numbers from a specific area code. This is useful for blocking known spam area codes. Go to Settings → Area Code Blocking to add rules.

Will SpamSentry block my contacts?

No. SpamSentry includes Contact Protection that automatically excludes your phone contacts from the blocklist.

What does "Temporary Pause" do?

Temporary Pause stops call blocking for a set period (15 min, 30 min, or 1 hour). This is useful when you're expecting a call from an unknown number, like a delivery or job interview.

The extension shows "Stale" or "Failed". What should I do?

Go to the Dashboard and tap "Repair" or "Reload" in the Extension Health section. If the issue persists, try restarting your iPhone.

How do I search if a number is blocked?

Go to the Search tab and enter a phone number. SpamSentry will show if the number is in the blocklist and its source (community or custom).
