Overview

SubDrop is committed to protecting your privacy. We believe a subscription tracker should never require access to your bank account or financial credentials. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Data We Collect

SubDrop collects only the data you voluntarily enter into the app:

• Subscription details (name, cost, billing cycle, start date, category)
• App preferences (base currency, monthly budget, notification settings, theme)

We do NOT collect:

• Bank account credentials or financial login information
• Browsing history or website activity
• Location data
• Contacts or social media information
• Analytics or usage tracking data

Data Storage

All subscription data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you enable iCloud sync, data is synced via Apple CloudKit using a private database. Only you can access this data — neither SubDrop nor Apple can read your CloudKit private database contents.

CloudKit Sync

CloudKit sync is an optional Pro feature. When enabled, your subscription data is encrypted and transmitted to Apple's CloudKit servers via your iCloud account. This data is stored in a private database that only your Apple ID can access. SubDrop does not have access to this data on Apple's servers.

Smart Add

The Smart Add feature uses on-device natural language processing to parse subscription details from text input. On iOS 26+ devices with Apple Intelligence, Apple's FoundationModels framework may be used for enhanced parsing. All processing happens on your device. No text input is sent to any server.

In-App Purchase

Pro Unlock is processed through Apple's StoreKit 2. Payment and transaction data are handled entirely by Apple. SubDrop does not see or store your payment information.

Currency Exchange Rates

SubDrop fetches exchange rates from a public API (exchangerate-api.com) to support multi-currency conversion. This is the only network request the app makes. No personal data is included in these requests.

Third-Party Services

SubDrop does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external service used is the exchange rate API mentioned above.

Data Retention

Your data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. If CloudKit sync is enabled, data persists in your iCloud account until you delete it from the app.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual subscriptions from within the app, or delete all data by uninstalling the app. CloudKit data can be managed through your iCloud settings.

Children's Privacy

SubDrop does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store and contains no content inappropriate for minors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
