Privacy-First Promise: VoicePen is designed to be 100% offline. Your voice recordings, transcripts, and personal data never leave your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your content.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
VoicePen does not collect or have access to:
- Your voice recordings
- Your transcripts or notes
- Your personal information
- Your location data
- Your contacts or calendar
- Any content you create within the app
2. Information We Do Collect
The only data VoicePen processes is:
- In-App Purchase receipts: Handled entirely by Apple. We do not process or store your payment information.
- Anonymous crash reports: Optional. If enabled, Apple may collect anonymized crash data through their standard iOS crash reporting system. This data does not contain any of your recordings or transcripts.
3. Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device:
- Recordings are saved in your device's local storage
- Transcripts are generated and stored on-device using the Whisper AI model
- If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced through your personal iCloud account (Apple's service), not through our servers
4. AI Processing
VoicePen uses OpenAI's Whisper AI model for transcription. However:
- The model runs entirely on your device using Apple's Neural Engine
- No audio data is sent to OpenAI, Apple, or any third-party server for transcription
- The AI model file is downloaded once to your device and remains local
5. Third-Party Services
VoicePen does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only external services are:
- Apple App Store: For In-App Purchases (handled by Apple)
- Apple iCloud: Optional sync, controlled by you in iOS Settings
6. Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Delete recordings at any time within the app
- Disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud
- Delete all app data by uninstalling VoicePen from your device
7. Children's Privacy
VoicePen does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not collect any personal data from any user, regardless of age.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated date.
