Short version: Warra is privacy-first. Your warranty items, receipts and photos are stored only on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell or analyze your personal data. There is no account and no tracking.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
Warra does not collect or share: product names, brands, serial numbers, purchase dates, prices, stores, receipt or product photos, notes, or any device identifiers. We operate no servers that receive your warranty data.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
All items you create — including receipt and product photos — are stored locally in the app's private storage using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to:
- iCloud Sync (Pro): if enabled, your items sync through your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database, protected by Apple. We cannot access it.
- PDF export / Email / Share: data you explicitly export is handled by iOS share sheets and the Mail app.
3. Camera & Photo Access
The camera is used only when you tap "Scan Receipt" to launch Apple's built-in document scanner. Scanned images are stored locally with your items. We never upload them.
4. AI Features
Warra's AI features work with two optional backends:
- Apple Intelligence (default): on supported devices (iPhone 15 Pro+, iOS 26+), AI processing happens on-device or through Apple's Private Cloud Compute, governed by Apple's privacy terms. Warra never sees the content.
- Your Own API Key (BYO): if you configure a custom AI provider key, your item details are sent directly from your device to the endpoint you chose, only after you explicitly consent each session. Your key is stored securely in the iOS Keychain. Warra has no access to your key or the exchanged content, and we never proxy it through our own infrastructure.
If you use neither backend, no AI-related data transmission occurs at all.
5. Contact Support
If you contact us through in-app Support, we receive your name, email and message, and use them only to respond. We do not add you to any list.
6. Children's Privacy
Warra does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app contains no user-generated public content.
7. Third-Party Services
Warra integrates Apple frameworks (SwiftData, VisionKit, StoreKit, UserNotifications, WidgetKit, CloudKit) whose processing is governed by Apple's privacy policy. No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs are included.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be announced in the app's release notes.
