Frequently Asked Questions

How does ContractShield analyze contracts?

ContractShield uses a dual-engine approach. The free tier uses our rule-based engine that scans for common red flags like hidden fees, auto-renewal clauses, and liability limitations. The Pro tier adds AI-powered analysis for deeper, more nuanced contract review.

What types of documents can I scan?

You can scan contracts using your device camera, import PDF files, or select images from your photo library. The app supports standard contract formats including rental agreements, employment contracts, service agreements, and more.

Is my contract data stored or shared?

Your privacy is our priority. Contract text is processed locally on your device for rule-based analysis. AI analysis is performed securely and your data is never sold or shared with third parties. Analysis history is stored only on your device.

What's included in the Pro subscription?

Pro includes AI-powered deep analysis, plain-English explanations of complex clauses, personalized recommendations, and unlimited contract scans. Both monthly and yearly plans are available.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your device Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Your Pro access will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

Does ContractShield provide legal advice?

No. ContractShield is an informational tool that helps identify potentially concerning clauses in contracts. It does not provide legal advice. Always consult a qualified attorney for legal matters.
