8. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

9. Tax Disclaimer

SnapLedger is a tool to help track income and expenses — it is NOT tax advice. The tax estimations, Schedule C exports, and quarterly calculations provided by the App are estimates only and may not reflect your actual tax liability. Always consult a qualified tax professional or CPA before making tax decisions. The App's tax rates (SE Tax 15.3%, income tax 22% bracket, $14,600 standard deduction) are based on 2025 IRS figures and may change.

10. Data Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your data. SnapLedger stores all data on your device by default. If you enable iCloud Sync, your data syncs via Apple's CloudKit (E2EE). SnapLedger does not maintain servers that store your data and cannot recover lost data. We strongly recommend regular exports and backups.

11. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, PDF templates, icons, and content, is the intellectual property of SnapLedger and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without explicit written permission.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Receipt OCR accuracy is typically >95% but may vary based on receipt quality, lighting, and camera. Always review OCR-extracted data before saving.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPLEDGER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Apple's Role

Pursuant to Apple's App Store Review Guidelines, SnapLedger acknowledges that:

15. Termination

We may terminate these Terms and revoke your license at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must delete the App from your devices. Subscriptions remain subject to Apple's cancellation and refund policies.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
